One option is to use 270 degree columns to soften corners, see ‘Column shapes’ for other ideas and custom cut shapes. This creates a feeling of space while elegantly blending rooms into each other.
Alternatively instead of double doors or plain arches, create a feature by placing a set of columns at either side of the opening. This increases your living space and omits a warm open plan feel that is perfect for kitchen come living room or dining come sitting room.
